How to collect your passport

You will receive an email from the VAC when your passport is ready to be picked up. Choose from a variety of options to collect your passport below:

You will be notified by email upon the return of your passport from the IRCC Office to the Visa Application Centre (VAC). To retrieve your passport you can either:

Effective 9th October 2023, passport collection for Canada VACs in India will be limited to the below individuals,

  • Applicants collect the passport/document themselves.
  • Parents collecting on behalf of minors.
  • Families or groups traveling together can appoint 1 family/group member to collect all passports/documents on their behalf of the family or group. (Applicant or accompanying family member whose name is mentioned on VAC services receipt will be permitted to submit the passports/documents at the VACs.)

The following documents must be provided to the VAC at the time of passport collection:

  • If you are authorizing a family or group member to collect your passport on your behalf, you must complete the Consent for Indirect Submission and/or Collection section of the VFS Global Consent Form
  • Your Government-issued valid photo identity card. If someone else is collecting your passport for you, they must provide a photocopy of your photo identity card and also show their Government-issued valid photo identity card at the VAC for verification.
  • Your ID. If someone else is collecting your passport for you, they must a provide photocopies of both your ID and their own ID at the VAC for verification.
  • The receipt your received from the VAC when you submitted your passport.
